Special Olympics Alberta and by extension, Special Olympics Calgary, will be suspending across the province, all sport training, competition and other fundraising activations until April 14, at which time the situation will be re-evaluated.
Although the risk of infection in Alberta is still low, our members have a heightened risk so we have decided to take the necessary measures. We hope that we will be able to resume programs and events after April 14, but there is a possibility that we will need to extend the suspension. We will continue to monitor the situation and work with our key partners and local health authorities so that we only resume programs when we can ensure safety for our members. Protection of our athletes, volunteers, staff and families is our number one priority.
Please also know in order to ensure we are supporting the fight against the spread of COVID-19 and protecting the health and wellness of our staff and members, our office will be closed from March 16th - March 27th as staff will be working from home. How do I get my Bowl-a-Rama pledges to Special Olympics?
Our office is currently closed, so when we reopen, information will be sent to bowling athletes on the procedures of Bowl-a-Rama pledge sheets and funds drop off and collecting the giveaway items, as well as announcing prize winners. Please keep all your information and funds in a safe and secure place until then.
Is the _______ event still running?
At this time, all programs, events, and fundraising initiatives including athlete activations have been suspended. Once events are confirmed to run or rescheduled, you will be notified.
