Rhythmic Gymnastics - Head Coach

We are in need of a head coach for rhythmic gymnastics in order to run the program. The Head Coach is responsible to plan and implement all sport training activities for the specific program they run. They are to ensure the safety of the athlete’s at all times while fostering a fun and enjoyable experience while developing the athletes in the sport.

Program Coaches

We are still looking for coaches to assist in the programs listed below. Coaches are expected to work with the head coach in supervising, guiding, motivating and implementing sport training activities for the athletes to participate within their sport. They implement the lesson plans as directed by the Head Coach. Must be 16 years of age or older.
- Alpine Skiing
- Basketball
- 5 Pin Bowling
- Cross Country Skiing
- Curling
- Figure Skating
- Golf
- Health & Wellness (1 and 2)
- Soccer
- Speed skating
- Swimming

Floor Hockey Referees

Referees are in charge of facilitating game play and enforcing that program rules are being followed. Referees will receive a shirt and whistle, and be provided with the opportunity to take a referee course.

Program Liasions

This role will consist of a few program visits to evaluate and ensure programs are being ran efficiently and safely. Program Liasions will report to the Sport and Program Manager and will assist with program related tasks when needed.

Communications Committee

We are looking for enthusiast Special Olympics supporters to help capture the stories of our members, and assist with covering the programs and events that we host throughout the year.

This includes involvement with a variety of opportunities such as our weekly sport programs, annual events: SOC Golf Classic and Breakfast with Champions, provincial campaigns (LETR) and national campaigns (motionball Gala and Marathon of Sport, Staples, Safeway, etc.) as well as other special opportunities throughout the year.

Volunteers who join this new committee will be provided with a training session and a SO clothing piece, and engagements will be offered intermittently throughout the year (primarily taking place in the evening hours or on weekends), giving you the chance to commit to attend opportunities based on your schedule.
